Project Description
The Area Transportation Authority (ATA) Regional Transit Facility in Johnsonburg, PA, is designed to support the transportation needs of a six-county region. This state-of-the-art facility functions as a central ‘field office’ for ATA, providing a dedicated space for the service and repair of transit vehicles. The building features a large garage for major repairs and preventative maintenance, a bus storage area for housing transit equipment, and an administrative wing to serve the needs of Elk and Cameron Counties. This facility ensures the efficiency and reliability of public transportation throughout the region, helping maintain a high standard of service for local communities.
The ATA facility manages public transportation across six counties in North Central Pennsylvania, ensuring reliable transit options for residents in rural and remote areas.
The building’s design includes eco-friendly features to reduce energy consumption and support long-term sustainability in transportation operations.
ATA’s operations through this facility contribute to local economic growth by providing transportation access for workers and students in the region.
