The Penn Highlands DuBois East Campus provides comprehensive behavioral and mental health services, and this building addition created dedicated units for children and adolescent patients and outpatient clinical space and a circulation hub to access the existing building which houses adult inpatient units. The children and adolescent units added 44 beds to the hospital, increasing the total quantity of beds to 126. A secure building entrance funnels all visitors through a central vestibule to increase safety and security of all building occupants. This secure entrance provides access to the first floor outpatient clinic, which features 28 therapist offices and exam rooms for unscheduled appointments.
