As part of a $180 million Master Facilities Plan to expand healthcare access across rural central Pennsylvania, we worked with Penn Highlands DuBois to create a new two-story Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit addition to its DuBois campus. Spanning 41,000 square feet and two stories, the addition includes a state-of-the-art Emergency Department with 24 emergency bays, 4 trauma treatment bays, 8 vertical care bays, and specialized rooms for behavioral health, women’s care, and isolation patients. Paired with the new 20-bed Critical Care Unit and two helipads, the facility has now been designated as a Level II Trauma Center.
