KTH Architects served as the Architect of Record for multiple contracts for the Erie International Airport in collaboration with Mead & Hunt, the airport engineers.
Our services included Architectural, full MEP engineering, and cost budgeting.
Project Description
We had many contracts for this project. We helped to design a new rental car canopy structure and a new snow removal equipment building. The airport also needed additions to the Terminal Entrance Vestibule. Lastly, we helped to design a new glass passenger boarding bridge.
The projects were brought in on time and on budget during some challenging constraints during the Covid Pandemic which included extreme cost escalation and supply chain issues surrounding building materials at that time.
The new passenger boarding bridge was the only glass PBB in Pennsylvania at the time.
During World War II, the Bradford Airport was selected for an emergency landing field, but the war ended before it was commissioned, and later became a four-county regional airport.
