Treasure Lake Church: Family Life Center Renovation

Multi-purpose Gym and Classrooms

Treasure Lake Church, which was designed by KTH in prior years, once again asked us to design a major expansion to this rapidly-growing non-denominational church facility. In addtion to providing for the spiritual needs for the community, the church wanted to extend their mission to include that of a community support and recreational center. KTH designed these program spaces within the center:

• Full gymnasium with a stage for youth activities,  sports recreation leagues, overflow services, and stage productions
• Youth group activity room
• Fitness / weight room
• Licensed day care facility
• Christian education classrooms

Being located in a residential neighborhood, KTH wanted the scale of the gymnasium to be respectful to the surrounding homes. As a result of this design consideration, the gymnasium is partially recessed below grade to be visually harmonious with the rest of the community.
